Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
- Cover sheet
Abstract/feature/manuscript text document (Word file-.doc or .docx)
- Tables and/or figures submitted as a supplementary file (Word file-.doc or .docx) with proper numbering and captions

All submitted research must adhere to ethical guidelines. Any research involving the use of human subjects must be approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and any research involving animal subjects must be approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), as stated in the methods section. If JUROS finds that the research violates ethical guidelines, they may refuse the paper solely on this basis without consideration of other factors.
General Copyright Restrictions
All authors are required to complete an author-agreement form, which requires signatures from all co-authors and the research advisor giving the author permission to publish the work in JUROS. By agreeing to the terms in this form, both the research advisor and authors agree to: relinquish the right to evaluate and publish submitted research to JUROS, acknowledge sole ownership to the submissions (both the actual research and the accompanying text and images), and hold harmless and indemnify the University, the journal staff, and those associated with JUROS against any claim, demand, suit, action, proceeding, recovery or expense of any nature whatsoever arising from any claim of infringement of copyrights or proprietary rights resulting from publication of the manuscript or claims of libel, obscenity, unlawfulness or invasion of privacy based upon or arising out of any matter or thing contained in the manuscript as furnished by the Author.
All authors maintain their copyrights if they are published in JUROS. Once you publish in JUROS, you are able to submit your manuscript to additional journals without needing clearance from JUROS. However, if you are interested in publishing this work elsewhere, it is recommended that you consult with your research advisor and the journal of interest to make sure you can submit to that journal after publishing in JUROS.
JUROS is an open-access journal hosted by OSU University Libraries. For more information on open-access policies, please visit http://library.osu.edu/projects-initiatives/copyright-resources-center/open-access/.
The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
All submissions will be reviewed in an objective manner. All editorial and production members of JUROS will not discuss the manuscript with outside parties until it is published online. However, once research is published, JUROS does not claim any liability for misrepresentation of research by the public. Any correspondence information or content in any media (photography, video, etc) that is voluntarily disclosed by the researcher to JUROS and is used in publication becomes publicly available. JUROS will not use any disclosed contact information (such as e-mail or phone number) except during the submission process or to notify authors of JUROS administrative changes.
